issues problems roadblocks obstacles barriers friction solve resolve progress move forward next step

We did it! Now…

We solved the connection issue with our messages and chat!

Now we’ve uploaded our app to Google Play in “internal testing” mode for some additional tests, because Play requires us to convert the app through several formats so that it’s more secure.

Herein lies our next issue: our app is broken after all the conversions. The thing is, it works perfectly fine before the conversions.

I have just sifted through a metric ton of documentation in order to diagnose the issue from my computer, and I had a major roadblock: my Android Studio (the program used to convert the app for Google Play) didn’t display the right menu options, and it was hair-grabbingly difficult to figure out why my menu was different from everyone else’s.

Guess what the extremely complex and hard-to-find problem was?

I opened… the wrong folder.

TADA! Yes… I found this help thread which says it all, and lo and behold! As soon as I did that, the correct menu items showed up.

Sometimes, people don’t understand the little things that make work so difficult or hard-to-solve, and even if the solution afterwards seems so simple, all of the hard work is spent finding it, because once it’s found, boom.

If you have developers on your team or contract, I think you’ll find it helpful to remember that fact.

Next up: testing our converted app so we get it working on the app store.

Let’s go.
