Hey, everyone. Sabian, here. I lost time.
What do I mean by that? I mean I spent the past few months putting my time into so many different things without finishing anything conclusive for any of them, and it was distracting me from the real priority: building our app, and getting your advice
I tried to get the rest of Team Ugeddit to build the app while I focused on marketing and webinars, and it took me months to see that was a terrible choice, because
- I don’t like marketing, and I’m not learning it as quickly as development
- I didn’t help the team clearly understand what we’re building, because we didn’t have anything to build from
We started building over 6 months ago, and we still haven’t launched a basic MVP.
Yes, that’s terrible, and it’s probably all my fault. I feel like I could’ve learnt and built our entire stack in 1-2 weeks if I had put all my time into it right in the beginning, because then we’d have had a clear basis for what we’re doing early on, and with a functional MVP it’s much easier to brainstorm with the team what our next steps look like, and build on top of it.
So from here on, I’m putting the time I have into developing the MVP alongside the team, just like how Elon Musk works alongside his engineers at Tesla & SpaceX, because this is also one of my favourite places to be.
Even one of our team, Pietro, who recently left due to his schedule exploding, told me he sees me being at my best when I’m working closely with the team, and that his best moments working with Ugeddit were when the both of us were thinking and working side-by-side
All this means
- Our digital events are now on-hold (until an amazing person wants to help me organize them)
- Our social media and blog posts may be shorter but have more substance (unless another amazing person wants to help write for Ugeddit), and
- I will focus my attention on those of you who are directly connected to accomplishing the first stage of our mission (launching our MVP and securing aligned funding)
